1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
The Lord is my shepherd, I am His sheep. According to John 10: 4-5, I hear His voice, He goes before me and I follow Him. A stranger’s voice I will not follow in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, You are my shepherd and I thank You for instructing, teaching and guiding me in every situation everyday all day as You promised in Psalm 32:8.
Because You are my shepherd, I lack nothing. I see all my needs met and my wants supplied. 2 Peter 1: 3 says Your divine power has given me everything I need for life and godliness. I know I have joy, peace and victory because You are my shepherd and I lack nothing. I also know I am strong in You and in the power of Your might (Ephesians 6: 10).
Nehemiah 8:10 says “…the joy of the Lord is my strength.” In order to ensure that I am strong, You gave me Your Holy Spirit, Who gives us the oil of joy. Therefore I can confidently say God is the strength of my life (Psalm 27:1). Because You are my strength, I know my spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual strength will be preserved and will always be on the increase.
In John 14: 27 Jesus said “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Since you have given me your peace, I receive it consciously today in the mighty name of Jesus.
You are my shepherd and I have ‘the victory’ through the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus, You died for me. Through death, You conquered him who had the power of death, that is the devil (Hebrews 2:14). That victory was for me, I receive it and walk in the consciousness of it. I give thanks because no matter what life throws at me, I have the victory with which I will conquer.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
You are The Good Shepherd and green pastures in this scripture connote being well fed or nourished. Thank You for making my church a spiritual green pasture for me. Thank You for leading me beside still waters, to quench my thirst. Psalm 107: 9 says You satisfy the longing soul and fill the hungry soul with goodness. Thank you for satisfying all the longings of my soul that are in accordance to your perfect will for my life.
